CAMPSITE DESCRIPTION

Our Wilding Pines campsite is located part way up a hill (3-5min walk from your car), and nestled in amongst a sheltering grove of wilding pines, it’s an idyllic setting. The views from the campsite and even from your bed are stunning – across the lake to the peninsula with the glorious, dramatic Mt Gold in the background. At Wilding Pines we have fitted out two luxury glamping tents so this site is perfect for 1-2 couples or one or two small families. One tent is fitted out in our Summer Art Deco theme; Bright cheerful colours, fun patterns, pineapples and parrots, it’s all here. It’s a fun environment to kick back and relax in. The second tent is decorated in our Aztec Indian Theme; Warm colours, feathers and dream catchers, and fun patterns abound. There is also a hammock tree tent which sits approx. 1.4 meters off the ground between three trees and is a great place to relax. Please note if you book for 2-3 people you only get access to 1 tent but the whole campsite is yours.

This was our 1st trip to NZ. We stayed at Wilding Pines for 2 days. We were amazed at everything the site offered. Amy and Mikey thought of everything and there was nothing more we could have asked for. We brought our own groceries but everything else was provided. The views were incredible and we were captivated by the changes in scenery as the sunlight moved across the mountains through the day. We napped together in the hammock, cooked on the outdoor grill,& stargazed at night. For two days we felt like the last people on Earth. The site, though not far from town, provided total privacy and seclusion. The tent was roomy, beautifully decorated and the bed was luxurious and so comfortable. I loved the outdoor shower which provided hot water and enough privacy while still offering a chance to peek out at the beautiful surroundings. The site was spacious and well laid out. We loved that they kept the natural landscape. Wilding Pines is a treasure and we only wish to have stayed longer.
